Hi,
about the only other thing you could do is to affect the price you pay.

Your probably buying about 1000 litre of oil at a time. If you were to buy say 20,000 liters the pricew would be negotiated to be lower.

How to get to 20,000 litres.....form a consortium with your neigbours to pool your needs and to negotiate with your suppliers for the lowest prices.

Might be interesting to ask your supplier about what break points he uses to offer discounts.

Some simple rules would be needed but consider it. Could you negotiate it down to £560..say a 20% drop I wonder.

regards

Alan

Time for the Govt to subsidise rural properties when gas is not available.

But one knows what utilities are available before deciding to buy and do up that country idyll - the one that we all dream of owning but 99.99% of us could never afford...

Dont want it to cost money ? put an extra jumper on, and turn the boiler off !

Between these extremes, I think the Government could and should provide a lot more subsidy for energy saving measures, particularly the basics like insulation, and price control fuels such as some other countries do. At least to curb the free for all race in hiking tariffs by the utilities.
