Its a great bit of timber, it looks like a map of an imaginary planet or something.
I say black for the legs, the top needs no distraction, maybe ebonised Oak or even burnt like shou sugi ban, I would do a matt black in contrast to the super shiny top. Maybe you should make some coasters as well !

I picked up some old pine lintels a few weeks ago …88”x9x3 that I think will provide the wood and I’ll stain it black

Lovely sunny day here so the outside ‘workshop’ is a pleasure to be in. Spent the last couple of hours cutting the bow ties out of the yellow balau offcuts then routing out the pockets

Bow ties fitted (a 5 deg back cut on the base of each one aids fitting )

then levelled with a small block plane prior to sanding down to 120 grit

finally 80g of epoxy resin applied to seal the grain and glue up some of the smaller fissures

looking at some of these cracks I think it will need another resin application.

A bit more progress today on the second cookie cut ….after 2 coats of resin its now had a coat of hard wax oil then sanded to 1500 grit .

Finished the test build of the legs yesterday ….softwood painted black with some paint I had lying round the garage

Some size 8 screws used on the bottom of the legs to aid painting etc
