Been progressing slowly with the comp entry.
I have made the back of the cabinet as a panel, the sides solid.
Back and sides are held together with biscuits (not clued at the moment), this is the same for the base.

This pic shows the top frame being fitted for the two drawers, still a bit of work to do on this bit.

Need some advice here on proportions, the drawer fronts will be 5" in hieght but I need to put a spacer between the drawers and also the doors, I did think of 2", does the team think this is too much?

No curves I hear you say, these have not been introduced yet, although they won't be too fancy Anyway someone has to come last.

Waka,
it's looking good to me, you could slow down a little though

I can't comment on the spacers, wrestling with proportions is slowing me down at the moment - I wish I had a plan or the confidence to master CAD skills.

I've been using off cuts of ply to see what the various sizes look like on my project - suggest you do same.

What style will the doors be?

My plans are on a scap piece of paper, basically I tend to make it up as I go along although sticking to the initial concept.

Regarding the doors I'm toying with the idea of rasied panels, haven't done these in a while. I intend to use pivot hinges for the doors and incorporate locks becasue the unit is for the downstairs cloakroom where we tend to keep happy and anti ageing pills.

As to slowing down I'm back to work in 12 days so I'll lose a month, therefore need to get most of it completed before I leave.

Waka you must be in the running with your cabinet.

Two inch spacer sound a lot to me, perhaps I am old fashioned .

We are talking about the crossbar between the top drawer and cupboard below? I favour 3/4".

Cant take part in comp. myself, unheated workshop and an anniversary coming up will keep me occupied during March.

Looking good Waka.

Are you engaged in Extreme Woodworking - I'm assuming that the walkie talkie is for your safety team...

Cheers
