All is quiet, there must be some frantic comp submissions being written with an hour and a half to go.

Feels a little like Christmas Eve :)

Or is that just me. Either way, there is a frisson of excitement as projects run headlong into deadlines and sweat drips onto keyboards

The fat lady has now finally sung...and it is all over, much to the relief of many I suspect.
The judges have an easier task though as His Nibbship has made a clean sweep of the Advanced Section, so both prizes will be awarded to him. Having spoken at length to LN at Waka's GSB, you'll be pleased to learn that the prizes (or the cash equivalent) will be going elsewhere, but I'll leave LN to confirm that and indicate what he intends to do  - Rob

Well let me start with good luck to all the others in their respective groups, it's all down to the judges likes and dislikes now. As already mentioned by Rob I just can't accept prizes for being first and second with no competition against me, it's like winning a marathon running it on your own  imagine trying to tell people my chess table won first and second, and them asking who came third

So as I've suggested to Rob I would like to auction the prizes with the aid of UKWorkshop with the proceeds going to charity, my choice of charity would be Cornwalls Air Ambulance. So if that's OK with Charlie and all the judges/mods after the competition results are announced perhaps Rob could start a thread offering the prizes to the highest bidders.

Edit
PS..... I'm still in the comp for best thread I hope. Good luck to everyone.

Once the judging is complete and the prizes awarded I'll start an auction for LN's prizes (assuming this is OK with the Mods and Charlie) with the winning amount(s) going to the Cornwall Air Ambulance - Rob

That is a very generous act LN. And well done for winning. I suspect you would have been in with a very good shout anyway as your finished piece was such high quality. It's just a shame you couldn't get to find out.

You said it all Mattty with "Well done for winning" I feel I didn't win anything so I don't deserve a prize let alone two prizes. But I'm still gunning for best thread prize :)

Good on you LN. Good Luck with the best thread prize. That's the one I was aiming for.

Your Lordship - as you've very generously elected to give your prizes to charity, there may well be a small consolation prize  on it's way to you and yes, you're still in there regarding the WIP thread prize - Rob

That's a nice gesture Nibbs.

Count on me to join in the bidding and hopefully a good sum will go to the Air Ambulance, such a worthwhile cause.

Good luck to all fellow competitors.

Regards, Tony.
