Router for for first time user that requires flexible use. Making shelves, table, frames. Like the idea of a combination router along with a router table, after researching topic.
Thought about DeWalt DW618PK coupled with Clarke CRT1 table. Budget is around £200 for both.
Am I on the right lines do you think? :|

I think the T5 takes 1/4" and 8mm cutters not 1/2" or is it that I've not used it for the bigger 1/2 I use the t10 for them silly I know should of got the T11 for table work.

I think you will find that particular Dewalt router combo is only available in the US, as far as I am aware the only DW combo available in the UK is this http://www.axminster.co.uk/dewalt-d2620 ... rod847127/ which is a smaller 1/4" only model, nice bit of kit (I own the fixed base only version and I am very pleased with it). For half and quarter inch combo in your price range you are limited to the Draper Expert version which despite Drapers poor name is actually quite a decent and capable tool, it is available for about £100 from Yandles I believe. I also ave the Bosch combo kit which is also excellent but is outside your budget, currently being well north of £300

Cheers
Richard

I'll add a vote for the Draper Expert combo (MR1350K, 45368). A solid tool for hand held use and in a table with small to medium sized cutters.

Right, can't thank you enough. Draper Expert it is - I've had a good look on internet and just about all seem to give it the thumbs up. £100 seems to be the price.
Now for a table, which also seems essential.

triton m0foo1 1400 watt had for christmas only had liitle play with it but i am impressed so far got some good features 159 from amazon was cheapest price

i got the guide bush kit which was 40 pounds

i like the safety switch set up also you got three choices for depth setting when you turn the handle it lowers the bit or traditional plunge or micro adjuster

also the guide bushes fit to the standard base and are quick to fit whereas some routers you have to fit a bigger sub base

variable speed soft start

electronic constant speed under load

one tool collet tightening , cant fault it in anyway at moment

mark

also it got perspex dust relfectors that work pretty well on enclosed routering the best i seen on a router and the guide bushes are skeleton to improve dust collection the dust collection port is tapered and connects to my record yellow tapered hose connector really well and is a snug fit

oh and you get above table crank winder for when using router table so no need for expensive lifts
