Not an expensive bit of kit, I know, but it has survived throughout my woodworking journey over the last 20 years, only for the motor to start smoking heavily on the last occasion I used it - I presume I overworked the motor. Does anyone know whether replacement motors are available for this ? I haven’t used the disc aspect of it since I got a 12’’ bench mounted disc sander, but I made a lot of use of the belt sander for shaping stuff. Always prefer to repair than replace, its the Aberdonian in me.

Unlikely - being Clarke/Machine Mart they're box-shifters - I asked about parts for a machine some years ago and got a No as the answer.

The similar, if not identical, Scheppach machine is pretty good and cheaper

If you have the skills I would be inclined to gradually take it to bits, on the journey you might find the problem and solve it. Could be an excess of sawdust stuck in the motor or brushes giving up. If nothing found, nothing lost and then buy a new one
