hi roy

sorry ,I can't tell you , as i said i alway's wake up before  so don't know the answer , i always try going back to the same dream, but no luck . hc

hi digit

ok serious now , i do agree price wise it is expensive but where are you going to get a piece of kit like that nowadays , sadly a tool of the past .hc

I reckon for the money this will go for you could get a LN Iron Mitre and get a small engineering company to make a metal track for it to run in for less

hi

yes it will, probably for about 650-750 ish a collectors piece, now , shame really i would love one but phew, there a lot i still need before, one day maybe.hc

As Chris mentioned it is missing the hold down, I think one with the hold down went for about the price you are are quoting hc at the beginning of the year.

The hold down is nearly always missing; I still have hopes that mine will turn up as the people I got it from say that they did have it.
Silly really as its only a right angle casting with a slot in it; iirc someone in the US made a run of them a while ago but wanted silly money for them, maybe Derek can clarify?
Cheers,
Martin
PS I am currently sniffing after another one that I have just heard of very local to me for a VERY good price, fingers crossed,

Another hold down or another 51/52 combo? If the latter then you're a jammy sod

Cheers, Vann.

Hi Martin

The holddown probably gets lost because it is not needed.

I don't recall ever seeing one in the wild with the holddown. I have a repro holddown. It was a rough casting and I needed to finish it - 95% done. I found this one in Australia. I did have a casting from the USA but it was a poor approximation of the real thing.

From the article on my website:

The real McCoy:

The two castings - the one I kept on the left, the "other" on the right ...
