Sorry!! The wife wants some suggestions for me and I can think of anything! So, what are the ultimate woodwork/workshop related gifts for under £20, under £50 and under £100?

I generally treat myself to something at birthdays and Christmas, examples of past presents to myself are a 6" Starrett combination square (often half price around now on Amazon), ISOtunes lite hearing protection and a Stiletto hammer.

@petermillard normally does a gift ideas video around now, this is last years

Didn't know what a Stiletto hammer was. Just looked up price, OMG. Can't get my head around that at all.
A brick on a stick is a hammer to me.
So pray tell, what justifies the cost.

I'm not being facetious, just really interested, cheers.

I got one of their cheap ones, 10oz titanium head on a wooden shaft, just under £100 when I bought it.

The theory is Titanium gives less recoil and transfers more energy than steel so Titanium hammers can be lighter than steel ones, my 10oz Stiletto is supposedly equivalent to a 16oz steel hammer. It's weird at first how light they are but my tennis elbow has cleared up since I bought it and it's nice and light to hang off the toolbelt so more than happy with it.

Stiletto are cheap compared to Martinez....

So, is the price break based on how good you've been, and will the relative value not depend on which shop the "wife" decides to buy from.

In my house I get what I want, when I think I need it, that is after a prolonged period of negotiation mind.

Humbug. ;)

Thats still amazing. But given the laws of physics, I think the hype is beyond reality

I recently started using a set of Japanese saws for work where a straight line is important, and compared to the traditional saw they have been a revelation. I thought I was rubbish at sawing a straight line but I can actually do it (most of the time). I would suggest one if those as a Christmas gift.
