Wow, the seller was really good. Apparently he was out of town and had one of his employees ship it. He was very apologetic and is refunding me the total amount and said not to send it back. I would click on his name and save him as an ebay seller to keep on your favorites as he is a stand up chap.

I will be adding him to my favorites just because of how he is handling this.

Thats a brilliant result. Obviously it is his responsibility, but accepting that it was his fault and refunding you is not the norm, well done, and well done the seller. =D> =D>

Thats the reason why we should post stuff on ebay on here. Many eyes make light work. There are bargains to be had. Saw an LN no 5 1/2 brand new go for 150 under retail price. Lovely.

If the bottom bin is to damaged any bin will do, all the good stuff is in the lid. I'm really happy with my one great amount of suck and filtration. Make sure you use the cloth bag to get best use of the filters.

It also works the other way - if you or another member is bidding on an item then someone posts it on the forum all of a sudden you find your bargain becomes not such a bargain.

It depends on just how much someone wants something. Some times you get very lucky other times you don't. I think one thing to be careful of is saying your bidding on something to get others not to bid on it on the forum. It's a bit of a grey area that might have consequences.

See what your saying Philly but that isn't what you meant by your previous post but we'll let than one fly this time.

I sorta feel bad to see something on ebay and not bring it back to the forum. I've have and had other members alert me to things on ebay I've known they've wanted and they have known I have wanted, Olly sent me the link to the Jet260 on from axy on ebay just the other week privately and although I didn't win I was highly grateful and I sent a link on to a Kity to BSM that I knew he was after. Its forum spirit at its best.

For an item such as this which was BIN and I thought to be a bargain someone on here is going to get it an that's what counts.

In essence I see it as the kind favour between forum members that is what I like best about this place, which is why I feel it would be sad that we didn't from time to time post something we thought was a real steal for one of us to get. Obviously if we end up bidding against ourselves, then that might happen anyway an if one of us wins its still a win for the forum! Its all forum brotherly love, the same way in which waka sold on a jig worth over £400 to me for £70 and the same way in which I gave away my table saw and the same way others have let things go to a free home. Posting ebay links is all in the same spirit and I'm glad the admin core take a light view on it and thank you/them for it.

Timmy Shaving said, "Bleeding eck Dusty, did you see that Felder CF741S Professional combo machine on Ebay, it went for a £1  I wish I knew about it because I could have got a bargain there."
Dusty Bin replied, "Yeah me old cocker, I watched that last night. I was going to have punt myself but I only have 99p in the bank."
Timmy Shaving, "You knew about it? Why didn't you tell me, you F-ing beep beep beep beep beep"

I can see both sides. One member could have found the exact machine he has always wanted and has put a bid on it when another member posts it on the forum and suddenly the machine has gone.

On the other hand a member might see a bargain, but not say anything just incase another member is bidding on it.

Its hard to know what to do for the best. I hesitate to suggest it because I know a lot of us are against extra sections on the forum, but maybe we could have a Wanted Sticky where members could post any wanted items, and if any other members have got the items, come across them on Ebay or even in there local paper, they could then send the member a PM. This way it is not placed on open forum and so there is not alot of extra bids, and the member who has bothered to place a wanted post, is rewarded with an avenue to the item he wants.
So that the sticky does not get to big, maybe when the member who no longer needs the item he could remove his post.

Just an idea

Cheers

Mike
