Carved yew piece

Had a bit of fun today turning and carving this piece in yew.

carving / texture done with a orbicut cutter. Finish is chestnut’s Lemon oil.

Thats a very pleasing item, those cutters are expensive though?

I like that. Texturing is not always successful on yew, but it's worked well there

those cutters are expensive though?

Not cheap certainly but has resharpenable HSS inserts so provided I avoid nails & concrete floors hopefully has another 40 years of use for me!
