The local church have been selling off the old pews in preparation for some refurbishment so can you just make it fit?

When someone says "Can you just...", I release the safety on my Browning.
 
"Just a quick question" is the equivalent in my line of work (IT). ”There's no such thing", is the instant reply as my eyes roll for a good 5 minutes ;)
 
Can I assume that was a straight one? As a fairly recent self employed handyman - I've started to become a little wary to the "can you just" 's I've had, as they usually come with an expectation of it adding nothing to the bill at the end.

Yesterday a couple of people came in asking for 2 pieces of hardwood and planed to section, I found some bits in the rack, they said 'how much': I said: £10 ok?

the reply: 'Oh no we cant afford to pay that much' :D

In the end they had some bits from the scrap bin for free -which were actually accoya
