Most of the paints I have bought have been total crap, I had stocked up on a International White Cupboard/furniture paint which was around 7pounds/litre off ebay and it was simply brilliant for anything, but now they have stopped the brand as whole and it can't be bought anymore :(
Anyone can recommend me something decent that will dry quickly/wont smell like crazy /will cover good and actually will look good and be durable? Not really that keen on the overhyped F&B and other such stuff which costs absurds amounts.

I think it will depend on the finish you want, I hate painting so try to avoid it where possible - the only stuff I have liked a lot recently is rustoleum chalk furniture paint. As the name suggests its a thick chalky paint, covers all sorts and ideal for the shabby chic type of thing.

So probably best to say what sort of finish your after and hopefully somebody more knowledgeable will be along soon.

If you want quick drying/low odour then your option is water based rather than oil/solvent based.

Water based (always go for trade/professional paint) can be purchased in many finishes. It takes around a week to fully cure and you should also avoid placing any ferrous metal objects on it in the future. But it dries quickly and 2 coats in 1 day is entirely do-able.

Sikkens and Johnstones are good products - these are satin finishes:

(P.S. You get what you pay for with paint - same as anything else)

not after that crap chalk paint nor anything other than water based- Just need a Regular Finish :|
with what kind of paints are you working mate when they are only ready after a week ? I have bought a paint like that and it was utter nightmare and total piece of $hit , I have some import furniture paint as well I have bought abroad that takes 10mins to dry before you can re-coat it and less than an hour for it to fully be cured, but I'm saving it only for super special occasions where I don't need it much.

Also the names on the tin -trade/professional is just a marketing ploy i must say..

Might be worth trying a small tin of 'bedec multi surface paint' think it was about 12 quid a litre from rgb. No primer needed, dries quickly, waterbased and sticks to most surfaces with good adhesion.
