As per title.

Why? I have a gift for one. Explanation over the other side here

So you paid £300 for a chest full of "stuff" (most of which is tat in my opinion) on the hope that you'd find something nice? Which you did, fair enough...

Yup, it was a bit (or a lot) of a gamble -but there were some (partial) pictures, and you could see things like the shoulder plane and the marking gauges.

I don't agree with the 'most of which is tat', but it depends what you think tat is, I guess. There's some weird junk, but there's an awful lot of good tools in there.

Anyway, the point of this thread wasn't to have two threads on the chest - but to find a T Smith - you're not Tiddles Smith, by any chance?

Jake it might be worth talking to Nick Gibbs. Putting it out to a wider audience. Something like that shouldn't be wasted. Shame the guy didn't have a son to pass it on to.

At a guess if he did and the fella could make use of the name punch Jake wouldn't have the tool chest

Is a T.Smith someone who specializes in tea drinking?

Regards Tom
