We are clearing out my late dad's workshop. He was an amazing joiner. Does anyone have any ideas, tips on the best place to sell some of the larger items that we have

Type of things we have are as follows

Lots of free sales places on Facebook. Must be some for tools?

Ebay, gumtree, preloved, free ads or your local paper.

Value wise they are worth what someone will pay for them.

Search eBay for your items , ticking the 'show sold items' box and you will get an idea of what they sell for should you wish to advertise elsewhere.
Listing on an auction site with a low start price, they will sell for whatever someone is willing to pay for them. If they are quality items they will most likely achieve a reasonable (to you) price, without you having to know what they are 'worth'.

You'll probably get most for them on eBay. Another option that you might like is to consider donating them to the Men in sheds project. There is probably a local one near you. Alas I'm too young to join but it seems a worthwhile charity and you might like the thought that they have gone on to help others. It depends on your circumstances etc.

Thanks for that DiscoStu will keep that charity in mind, we're really looking to sell the bigger machines, and hopefully some of the mountain of powertools he had, but anything that we cant sell will definately keep this charity in mind, think he would have maybe liked that

Like I say it depends on circumstances and what you think your Dad would have wanted. I suspect you'll get a few hundred for what I've seen and you may think your Dad would have wanted that to pay for a family trip etc etc. You just need to do what feels right but I thought I'd mention the men in sheds thing as its a charity that no only benefits those that go and use it but they also do things to help the community etc. As I said I have no affiliation with them at all.

For the best price I'd suggest that eBay is likely to be your best option. Plenty of photos and good quality description. Maybe put a minimum starting price on that you'd be happy to sell at. I'm sure you could sell them on here but you might get a better price on eBay. If you can supply model numbers then I'm sure we could have a go at helping you with pricing. Although I don't want to get your Dad in trouble if you find out he spent more than he told you! It's just the way us blokes do things! :)

Good luck
