I'm not! Just wondered what fellow forumites like as a usual tipple! I once (many moons ago, enjoyed a bitter called Timothy Taylors) but sadly and rarely, now stick to ............Magners

My "local" stuff i.e Jennings, is over rated IMHO - apart from Snecklifter that is!

Cheers - literally.

Mark :D

I used to love real ale but it didn't love me, 5 pints and i'd be calling for me mates on the big white telephone, Bill, Hughie and Bert

Did have a nice pint not so long ago, Bathams I think it was called, it was at Kidderminster Station, end of line for the Severn Valley Railway, I liked it so much I wanted to stay and catch the last train back but the Mrs would have none of it :(

Due to the tablets I am on (and will be for the foreseeable future) I am unable to drink, but when I used too, my tipple was Carlsberg special brew, lovely stuff.

Cheers

Ooo yeah, I love real ale and I am in the right part of the country for the best brews.

I think my favourite is Samuel Smith's from Tadcaster. The brewery was run in competition to the better known John Smith's. John was Samuel's cousin. Although John Smith's is now huge, Samuel Smith's is still made in the same small brewery. They make real ale and it tastes beautiful.

Just a short drive into the Yorkshire dales there are some fantastic little village pubs which serve equaly fantastic ales. One of the better known ales from this neck of the woods is Black Sheep which is also very nice.

=P~ Mmmm... I'm off to the shop. =P~

CARLSBERG! I said after spraying a mouthful of Theakstons Old Peculier over the dog. CARLSBERG!

Typical football supporter  . Now if you supported a real mans game like rugby, you would drink a real mans drink.

My hubby's a member of CAMRA. His favourites are Bateman's XXXB and Fuller's ESB, and Spitfire. (He's just looked over my shoulder and told me not to forget to mention Old Speckled Hen :-s ) .

Fortunately, these are not local brews. If they were, I'd never see him sober.

I can't go on reading this thread anymore.

There is no such thing as real ale in France.

Being a Kentish man, or is it a man of Kent, it would have to be Bishop's Finger or Spitfire for me.

Spitfire and Old speckled Hen I am Familiar with, Bateman's and Fullers I know i've had but probably too drunk to pass fair comment, Everards is the big Leicester Brewery and not a bad pint and it's only 1/2 Mile down the Road, A better pint could be had at a Hoskin's pub which is Leicesters oldest Brew (I think)

I've pretty much stopped drinking, but in pubs I go for Light & Bitter (taste of my yoof) and at home bottles of Fuller's London Pride. In fact I think I might have one now, been a long week.
