Has anyone got\used one? From reading up on them the difference in noise is significant - not to mention getting a nick doesn't mean replacing\re-sharpening a blade.
Haven't heard of anyone over here having them ,but they always get good reports from the states, should imagine they would be fairly expensive as a retro fit though.
$475-$£1000 seems to be about the region for a 12" head with bearings, etc.
Might make some inquiries about the Lorum as it isn't listed. If it costs somewhere in the middle of that price range, I wouldn't be averse to getting one especially if the noise levels are significantly reduced.
I think Doug B was looking in at buying one of these for his planer, a few months back now. I can't remember hearing that he actually went through with it, though...?
