Last time i used my bandsaw (Record RSBS14) it went bang and stopped. One of the tyres had failed and wrapped around the top wheel. I took it out and left it in the bottom cabinet and today went to clean out my bandsaw and noticed it was the bottom one that had snapped and must have shot up to the top. Never noticed before but the bottom wheel has a groove in it the width of the tyre, unlike the top wheel which doesn't but i am presuming that the top and bottom tyres are the same size/type?
Also, seeing as the tyre had just snapped but is generally ok, could i just glue it to the bottom wheel with spray glue or somesuch, or is that asking for trouble when i need to replace it in the future? They are £20 for a poxy bit of rubber. At least they were on the site i looked at. I'm probably going to get the urethane ones from the American site on ebay eventually but need to use the bandsaw fairly soon and i imagine they take a while to arrive. Unless anyone knows another solution?
