Seems to be another good issue, has more info on the Record TS200 that a new member has enquired about, and a rather interesting article on a little arts and crafts table on page 66. ;-)

I bought a copy at the Harrogate show, but haven't looked at it until now. Congratulations BB, great article. =D>

I have been reading this tonight, very good and very informative too. I have been enjoying the articles on the different woods and the bit on workshops. For me i find the articles very informative without bring ott. In the future it would be nice to have websitelinks to some of the articles. But one thing at a time :D
I see some of our members have contributed which is great. I particuarly chuckled whe i saw someone complaining about too much Steve Maskery, Its impressive that someone takes the time out to write articles without people critising them.
Keep up the good work. I subscribed on saturday at Harrowgate.
Owen

Thanks Corset. We've done websitelinks in previous issues, and certainly it's an area we want to improve on by using various media. I had hoped to do some video on the Record saw, but just ran out of time. Did anyone try viewing Steve's YouTube footage on testing tenon strength from the last issue?

Nick

Yeah! good stuff Nick.
I thought it was the best so far.

Actually, in the interests of of balance I'm glad you put the complaining letter in. Please don't turn the letters pages into a 8rse-lick session, lets have warts n' all.

Having visited Steves home and seen some of his wonderful work so far as I'm concerned you can feature him every month. Just edit out the bloody Domino stuff

Byron/Colin, I read the article twice before I realise it was bloody BB  I really thought your name was Byron - where did it come from?
By the way, I cringed at that photo with you using the clamps straight onto the table legs - Don't you have a scrap wood bin??

Thanks, Lurker. I want to try to keep the Letters page balanced and useful. Actually I really didn't like putting that letter in because I think it's hurtful of Steve, but it was the only negative one we had! I can't reiterate enough how highly I value Steve's work and support, and it was an opportunity to mention that.

Thanks also to everyone who came up to say hi at Harrogate.

Nick

Lurker. I didn't need to use scraps for the glue up as the clamps upright part that touches the wood is wider/longer than the stock so there is no danger in making any marks. I usually put in some cardboard or such like between them, but it wasn't nessacary on this project. Did you enjoy the article?

Nick,

I can't imagine Steve being that bovvered. Last time I saw him he was wearing the most stupid hat that no sensitive person would consider in a public place
Anyway in my book actions speak louder that words: get him to write a feature building some furniture - using traditional joints of course.

Whats this about "a number of screws"  don't tell me you edit a ****o mag too!

Colin - I ain't ever gonna call you Byron again; damn silly name unless you are a bent poet IMHO.
Don't take this the wrong way but the design ain't my cuppa tea. I do however like your writing style and hope you might get the chance to do some more.
Regarding clamps, well you do it your way and............

Haven't had chance to have a proper read of Colin's article yet but the table looks great :D

Also noticed that OPJ from the forum has a nice looking resawing jig featured in the magazine. :D

Hopefully will get a chance tonight to sit down and read the magazine properly.

Ian

Haven't read the mag yet but had a browse through and started to read Colin's article about his workbench :? are you getting paid double for this BB

Nothing wrong with the name Byron, many fine people share the name. I'm sure you didn't mean it to sound so offensive, but 'bent' poet is not particularly complimentary. I use the name just as a forum/internet name just like you use 'lurker'.

 I'm sure Jim wasn't meaning to be offensive, he just has a peculiar sense of humour, as you can tell from his username

Now now Colin,

Just cos you've had one article published there's no need to get uppity

Remember I've read all the confessions about the prattfalls ( ad infinitium!) you have had over the past few years :D :D

I was trying to say, I'd trust a Colin but am not so sure about a Byron.

Having an article isn't a factor on me getting 'uppity', I just found your comments offensive. Besides, this is all off-topic. I started the thread to talk about the magazine not to discuss how trustworthy my 'forum' name is.

On-topic. I really like the look of the Mirka sanding pad, its definitly on my xmas list. I also liked the article with the chair reproducer, some really nice work there.

Not so sure myself, don't like the look fo that suction pipe sticking out the back, could be quite a restriction.

Colin,

I seem to remember you giving someone a "lecture" about the meaning of these:

I agree that sander thingy looks good.

You seem to know a lot about me, you sure you shouldn't be named 'Stalker'.
