Neat detail Max, I think the Walnut is a good choice for the subject.

Not so sure about the high gloss finish, personal preference is for an oiled or semi matt finish on darker woods.

Nice box, I like the traditional shape...mind you that is coming from someone who can't make the blithering things. You don't say how big it is but it reminds me a lot of a biscuit barrel my grandmother had.
