Made this from Field maple burnt decoration then ebonised foot and finial finished with acrylic sander sealer followed by an acrylic satin finish

Like that Derek, once again a fair amount of post turning effort invested in that.
 
Thank you Chas. I did have to remake the lid as the first one became loose after sitting in the house for a couple of days number two I rough turned then took indoors and finally turned now fits a treat
