Bosch Multi Tool- Any good?

Sorry, late to this thread. Had the original Fein Multimaster; great bit of kit, but the blade attachment (this was pre 'quick-in') drove me nuts after a while, being hard to tighten and shook itself loose in seconds of use. Bought the Bosch 10.8v GOP - nice tool, great blade-attachment, but I've never found anything that'll suck the life out of a battery faster. Newer 2.6 and 4.0 Ah batteries may help now, of course, but I sold it on eBay (!) and bought the Makita corded - same blade connector as the Bosch, bit noisy, but a decent workhorse.

When you get it, mark each of the batteries individually. I just use dots of Tippex on an "inside" surface so it doesn't easily rub off - quick and easy.

Probably, one pack will start to die first, and you can then immediately see which one it is and avoid it letting you down when you depend on it.

That also quickly identifies them as yours if you work somewhere where others use the same system.

Like all comparisons of corded and battery kit corded version are always much the better.

The corded Blue Bosch 250 or 300 Multi-Tools are very powerful.

No such comparison intended - I had a decent amount of Bosch 10.8v stuff at the time and specifically wanted the cordless version (for much the same reasons ETV outlines above) as I already had the (corded) MultiMaster; I was just surprised how quickly the cordless Bosch depleted its batteries compared with, say, the little 10.8v Bosch recip. saw or jigsaw - literally minutes of use before the power tailed off so much to be pretty useless; tbh the recip. saw isn't brilliant either, but it's easier on the batteries than the GOP was - something to use in a tight spot (in every sense) perhaps, rather than something to rely on, IHMO, unless you have the (physically larger) 4.0Ah batteries of course.

And +1 to ETVs suggestion of identifying the batteries - always good to know if it's a specific one that's starting to play up.

Cheers, Pete

I would have completely agreed with that statement until I got the Festool PDC
