The bootfair this morning was just a gnat's whatsit away from being cancelled but the clouds disappeared...the sun came out and we were on! The downside was that some chickens decided not to risk it and as a result...there were only a few rows of stalls.

So...I only needed £2.50 of my normal £20 budget...but I managed to get two things that I have wanted for a while...

Firstly....somewhere to put my abrasives and stones.

I was just about to build a pigeon hole cabinet to put the various grits...of Abranet and other abrasives sheets. I am fed up to the back teeth of searching the cavern that is the workshop for scraps of the right grade...

Also I wanted somewhere to keep the various natural stones I am collecting...with coticules and Charnleys running at stupid prices...the last thing I want is to get debris all over them or knock them off the bench!

This box was a cabinet for concrete samples would you believe! And the guy only wanted two squids for it....result! It's made of Birch Ply too! Weighs a ton!

Then...just before I was about to leave...I thought I would get a book to read...just a novel or two and was browsing through a stall when I chanced upon this little gem...

I have been meaning to get this fine work on planes for quite a while but at 50p....well....how could I refuse!

So....not a mass of infill planes and vintage Sorby chisels but some very handy items...

Working tomorrow so no bootfair for me! Damn and blast this work thing!!

Anyone else have any luck this weekend?

Jim
