This was a job I finished before Christmas but the rooms weren't decorated until Jan. Its two adjoining rooms, a family room/ snug and a formal drawing room

I've added a few of before pics as well. Drawing room is still awaiting tidying post Christmas and so not exactly dressed!

Materials are birch ply and beech.

Excellent work Tim. I'm soon to attempt something similar myself.

Can you tell us about the electrics inside? I see you have a TV in one cabinet and table lamps plus the spots above the bookcase. How are these all wired? Are the spots switched from the main room switch(es)?

Thanks for the comments guys.

I thought 'snug' was a commonly used word for small, family/ TV room.

I admit that the train set caught my eye too but the client was talkingto me while I was taking pics so I couldn't have a go.

Cables were run before the work was installed and then wired on completion. The lights are switched from the main room switches. All I did was cut the apertures for the lights/ sockets though. A sparky did the rest.

Well Tim, you must be very proud, it's beautiful and the colour scheme works very well, a pleasure to look at, thank you.
regards, Rich.

Blimey tim, you don't muck about do you mate! Quick too! Looks very nice indeed.

May I ask what grade Birch Ply you used and what the quality was like? I recently bought some 'Premium' BP from a local timber supplier and the quality was terrible. The thickness was a shade under 17mm (should have been 18mm) and the voids where rife.

It was BB from Edens. You should ask your supplier what grade theirs is - AFAIK 'premium' doesn't exist.

Beautiful job, Tim.

There seems to be a big demand for this kind of work at the moment, particularly in painted finishes.

I always opt for MR MDF; any particular reason why you used birch ply?

Oh, and why do the bookshelves stop short of the ceiling? Please don't tell me that that's how far an 8' sheet reached!

Nice work.

Cheers
