I made four boxes last year from scrap osb, two for **** with hole and two for robins with open front. The day I put them up I had come back indoors and within 5 minutes watched a blue tit inspect all four and them choose the one nearest the house. the pair then went on to nest and fledge a pair of young. I found one of the fledglings have come out the nest and was in the middle of the lawn vulnerable to predators so picked it up and moved it to the safety of under the hedge. one of the parents soon found it though and took care of it. So far this year the same box has been visited daily but there is no sign of nest building, yet!
