Most likely I have overloaded and burned the big electric drill I use for drilling peg holes in log walls. It went out of production in the late 1950-ies so the manufacturer is of no help. I use an auger bit 36 or 38 mm in diametre and the holes are up to 40 cm deep. Professional part time use. My old drill has always worked at the point of overloading so I want a new drill that is considerably stronger. Two hand grip is more or less mandatory because of my back trouble.

Now the question is what cound I use as an upgraded replacement for this:

Americans seem to use a machine called Milwaukee Hole Hawg but they aren't sold in Europe nor are they made for 230 volts.

That looks like the horrible type of gut-buster that was around when I was an apprentice. I have seen one of the bigger ones throw three blokes off when drilling deck holes. We swapped over to windy drills, much safer.

Lots of companies sell large drills; look at Fein, Metabo , Makita, Protool and the company that actually makes most of them - Eibenstock
You might find a deal on Protool as they rebrand to Festool

The Bosch GBM32-4 is all round impressive and quite nice to use.
