OK GUYS, One more for you today. I need a new drive belt for my 12" Wadkin planer/thicknesser. The present one is green, and very strected. 5 minutes to beat! Kind regards BECKS
either get in touch with Wadkin Ultracare with the model number, year of poduction etc, or take the belt of and take it to your local belt manufacturers. they will measure it and make one exacly the same, normally at a fraction of the cost of Wadkin
Not 5 minutes, but try a bearing supply company. V-belts are made by companies such as Ferodo and seel through bearing supply outlets and engineer's merchants, although another approach might be to replace the V-belt with link belt. I've had some of this sruff through a compressed air firm in the past (compressor drive belt replacement), but I can't find an on-line source in the UK
A belated additional piece of info - I had to adjust a v-belt on a machine this morning and noticed the name - Fenner. I should have remembered them as I've driven past their factory (warehouse?) enough times in the (dim and distant) past. Anyway they have a national distributors list with about 100 outlets here. They are worth making a note of as they also manufacture/distribute pulleys, flat belts, drive chains and sprockets.
