Although I haven't posted much recently I have been busy. I have been building this alcove unit in MDF for a start.

The customer is going to paint it and I will fit it.
I have also started work on another alcove unit again in MDF but not such a slab style this time. I have just finished the raised panel doors for it.

I also have a window seat to build for this customer too so will start that once I have the first unit out of the shop.
I have not been idle on the table either as I have completed one of the knuckle joints for the gate leg.

Take no notice of the bolt through the joint it was just a piece to test the swing of the joint. It will of course be a hardwood dowel through the centre. Well will keep you all posted as usual as and when I accomplish anything else.

Mailee, you amaze me and are a source of inspiration, 10/10.

Hi Mailee some good work there. You may have seen from my posts I have an interest in producing mdf doors and in particular raised panels. Are the frames to the doors mdf and how did you joint them?

Regards

Thanks guys. Well Mike the frames for the doors are wood on this one as they will be hung on standard butt hinges. I would normally use concealed hinges but it has to match an existing unit on the other side of the chimney breast. The face frame is also made out of softwood for this same reason.

I wanted to produce a knuckle joint for a gate leg table and people here were good enough to supply info.
Trouble was the wife wanted the table completed sometime during her life time, so I ended up with a brass hinge!
Maybe next time.
Nice job though mailee.

Roy.
