Hi there,

I apologise if I'm being stupid but how do you slacken off the belt drive on a Sheppach Basato 3, does the lower drive wheel move?, surely you don't have to take the motor off?

I don't own a Basato bandsaw but, looking at a photo of the Basato 3, there appears to be a wheel on the lower edge of the saw away from the motor which, as is a common feature with most bandsaws, would be used to slacken off the tension on the drive belt.

If you're looking to actually remove and replace the drive belt with a new one then, unfortunately, I'd imagine you'll have to remove the lower wheel first. That's the way it is with most saws.

I read a review of the new Basato 4 recently and, I think, it mentioned something about the wheel also slackening off the motor as well? Could be a similar feature on your saw.

this information should be in the manual.
if your still haveing trouble call scheppach 01484 400488
