I struggled with this piece of beech this morning
and then tried to remove the bark. It's a shame, it looked better with the bark. Anyway, I tried to remove it with a chisel, and managed so far but I don't want to go any further in case I damage the edge where the sapwood meets the bark
Will the bark get easier to remove as it becomes drier? The wood's at about 19% so has a way to go in the house.
ps: the underside will be getting some more of the abrasive paper treatment in due course.
