Being entirely self-taught, I've never been able to get to grips with the sharpening thing. All the straight legs, bent arms etc. just never really worked for me.

So, I've been looking around for one of the Tormek copies, and came across the Scheepach Tiger 2000 on sale at Kraft Kabin in Stoke for only £125 (including vat!!). At that price I couldn't resist, and what a difference - razor sharp tools make things a lot easier.

End of gloating with that link methinks ! Seriously, lovely piece of kit and still a good price.

So would those guys "in the know" care to comment on the Scheppach vs Jet vs Tormek debate, as started here please?

The Scheppach is less than half the price of the Tormek and for a very part time amateur I'm not sure that I can justify the Tormek. Is this a case of Rolls Royce being the best but for most of us a Volvo or VW will still do very nicely? Not sure I want a Mk2 Cortina tho'.
