@Spectric Your right about it being a multi vee belt, 4 to be specific, Just ordered one for the spares box so thanks for finding and posting the link :)
Your rule of thumb, do you mean for example that a 1inch piece of wood you would use 3-10 tpi and for a 2 inch piece of wood 1.5 tpi - 5 tpi (not sure if 1.5 tpi even exists but just trying to understand) and thanks again for the help.

@EddyCurrent seems expensive is it really worth it in your opinion?

Here is a chart I knocked up to give some indication of the range of wood thickness for a given TPI. Don't take it as gospel but it gives some idea. IE with 3TPI you have a range of 22mm to 100mm thickness, and for thin sheet goods you can see that 10 TPI is ok. You also need to bear in mind what finish you want and whether you are ripping or crosscutting.
