axminster ts 200 or makita mlt100

finally comes down to these 2 saws. due to finances and a bad winter. please could you help me decide on which to spend my hard earned on.

You don't mention the Metabo TS250 its a very well made saw probably more accurate than either of those you suggested.

the metabo is £420, the makita is £300 and the axy is £200. my budget was going to be £300 max. like i said we have had a bad winter up north. thanks anyway.

WOW that Makita has come down in price then, it was £499 the same as the Metabo (elektra bekum) when I bought mine.

If it's solely for workshop use then, you're probably best off taking the advice of others and going for the Axminster saw, which is very well regarded around here. There aren't nearly as many owners of that Makita saw on this forum but, if you're taking it with you on site, etc. then, it's a portable saw, designed to be transported around. On the Axminster saw, you'd have a long right-hand extension table to deal with, plus the rail on the front of the saw.

Chris - I think you might be confusing the MLT100 with the 2704 model...? ;-)

Mike if you go for the Axminster TS 200 then I would also buy the £81 sliding table.

Oh they have 2 different models now I see. Use to only be one when I bought my EB ts250 from D & M tools I looked at the Makita didnt think it was very good quality.

thanks for the info. i will go with the axy and get the sliding table and probably a new blade.
