Hi

Can anyone tell me how many stops there are on the Axi indexing ring? It doesn't say on the site or in the catalogue.

Many thanks

Thanks for the replies.

I need at least 36 divisions so the axminster is out.

The iron fire one looks good, thanks for the link.

BTW. On my search I found that Sorby do a nice looking one but again it is only 24 stops...

You don't say how accurate you need the divisions, whether they have to be 'spot on' or just look right.

One way of getting 36 divisions from a 24 division indexing ring is to use every other hole (12 divisions). Then move the index locking arm 1/3 of a marked division and then mark again. Repeat with 2/3 movement.

I hope that makes sense.

If you can find the time, it's quite easy to make your own.
A scrap piece of steel plate, (the holes in the middle were already there,) :?
This took a couple of days to make but the measuring and waiting for the spray paint to dry took most of that.
This is it, fitted to my Tyme Avon

The numbers are 'Letraset', just drill as many or as few holes as you need.
The arm was for my Multistar chuck, so I just put in another locating peg at right angles to suit the new disc.
Straight fitting over the spindle held securely by the chuck.

Thanks for the input.

I have a vinyl cutting plotter so I will use that to make a template for drilling.

Might save a few quid too!

I don't need absolute accuracy, its for drilling the mortices on chair posts.

Many thanks.
