I built an 18" by 5' torsion box of 1x2 poplar and birch ply. Two scraps of 1x2 were glued on their sides in the interior inline with mounting holes for the mitersaw and the extensions. One inch holes through the bottom ply to the scraps allow for a fender washer to fit over the mounting bolt heads to spread the load of the mounting bolts and so that the heads do not extend below the bottom ply surface. Extensions and a stop were built from the leftover birch ply. $53 and change.
It mounts with clamps to sawhorses, pickup truck tailgates, or your workbench. Take off the mitersaw and extensions and you have a temporary work surface (not as good as the bench raisers tho!).
