I've got Axminster stuff, bought used.
For what I paid for it, it's ok. Nothing that great, but I didn't pay all that much.

I also have a selection of old British cast iron machine tools and some very modern Japanese cnc stuff (which pays the mortgage, ie not just a hobbiest)
Would I buy Axminster machine tools new at the price they charge?
Not a chance. I'd either buy trusted restored cast iron, or buy old cast and restore myself.
But then I guess if the only option is to buy new (as some people never trust used) then it's probably no worse than any of the other consumer grade pressed steel from China...
