Why not use a picture of yourself as avatar? I think it is quite nice to see what members look like. Makes it more personal. Or what?

I think using own picture shown “that’s me, nothing to hide”, and lack of picture it nit so much common on any other forum, where avatar is exactly what it says it is AN AVATAR

Many years ago we had rogues gallery where you could see what members looked like, you could send in a photo of yourself or more often than not have a photo taken of you & upload after attending one of the forum’s get togethers.
Sadly both have disappeared in the mists of time
