Auto switch question

I've seen plenty of shop vacuum/ dust extractors that have an auto switch on them which turn on the vacuum when the power tool that is plugged into them is turned on. Does anyone know of a source for the auto switch itself such that I could wire something similar up with my existing extractor?

Thats exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for but definitely not the price tag I'd like to pay. Does anyone know enough about the electronics involved to know how to make one, or any cheaper alternatives?

Thats the same as I bought at B&Q three months ago. They work well, and you can get spare remote etc.
