I was fortunate in that I placed an order for some new chisels, a 6000 grit japanese stone and a Nagura stone before the price hike. The chisels and 6000 grit stone were delivered fine and the other item placed on back order which I promptly forgot about.

Well, to my surprise I had a mystery parcel waiting for me when I got home today. What could it be? :tool:

Well, it was quite light but a big box.

I opened it carefully and saw an Axminster note inside - a freebie for being such a good customer???

Nope.

After much digging I found the Nagura stone inside.

So apologies, the price hike is my fault for having a 10gram Nagura stone delivered in royal luxury! Or if there is a Jiffy bag sales rep amongst us, I think in sleepy Devon there may be an opportunity! ](*,)

It's a classic, In my job we used to get stores delivered in cardboard boxes...before they went to woven sacks. (digression they tried reusable plastic crates but they didn't get any returned, can't understand that but...) I had a box arrive it was about 2'x2'x3' and light as a feather, when I opened it inside was a big polythene bag, inside the polythene bag was a half inch washer with a 1/4" hole.....well worth the cost for the amusement factor alone.

I once had a delivery shortage from Screwfix. They sent the item out in a cardboard box by ANC (as it was then). The box was approx 18" x 12" x 8".

The missing item was a pack of 10 stanley blades. The delivery man couldn't believe it when I told him.

Cheers

Karl

Rutlands do it every time for me. It seems they do it on purpose. The boxes are always double the size of the contents.
