Hi,

sorry, hope this is not too misleading as it's not a "tool" as such, however it may invaluable so some of you especially if you work in the trade as such, but would suit anyone.

Ive had delivered today the most fantastic little scaffold tower, well not exactly a tower but it will easily get you to ceiling height and slightly above, in fact my head just touches the top of my ceiling standing on it and I'm only 5 foot 6. It has 2 lockable castors on one end and is very manoverable.

Best thing about it is it's as light as a feather and takes literally about 5 seconds to put up as it just folds out and then you slip the 2 aliminium boards into the sides which locks it firmly into place, and when you take it down and fold it you put it in the supplied bag, which must cost about 20 quid just for that, and you can lift it with 2 fingers and would easily fit in a car or van.

Again would be ideal for anyone and 100% better and safer than working off a ladder.

All this for......£39.13, reduced from 60 quid, got to be the bargain of the year so far, and the build quality is fantastic.

If in doubt...........buy it.

Nearly forgot, its on the Wickes website(hard sell over!!!).

I could do with one for fixing my roof, but then it's redundant, so I might as well hire one.

Safe working Height 87cm. That doesn't seem very high at all ?

Unfortunately Wickes don't deliver to N. Ireland. I tried to buy 2 shop vacs yesterday and got turned down. :( Pity, it looks like a super store.

Again the height for working inside a standard sized house it's fine, you would be surprised, and would also have 2 hands free to work where as you might have one hand holding the ladder to steady yourself when working off it.

You could put the boards on the top rail that would give you more height again, however the instructions say you shouldn't, but as its firmly fixed by the hinges and the boards I can't see how it would be unsafe personally because its still very firmly locked, I think they don't recommend it as they want you to hold the top rail to help access it, and I would never go against the manufactuers safety regs, just my opinion that it looks safe to me.

Check the reviews on it on Wickes website

Still insist fantastic buy.

I want one that adjusts in length as well as height (for papering ceilings). Nevertheless, still better than a ladder for working in a single area for anything over 20mins, especially if you have a lot of kit with you.

Thanks for the tip, just ordered one. Looks decent and the reviews are very favourable...........More stuff clogging up the van!
Wonder why they don`t mention how handy it would be for a bench at lunchtime on site?

I ordered on on tuesday night after reading this thread ( thanks for the heads up) it arrived lunchtime on thursday its super... my ceilings are high 9-10 ft and i can easily access them now.. its stable ( i'm not light) and folds away into its bag after use..Very much recommended

I've just ordered one too. To get free delivery I needed to spend another 6 quid, ended up spending 64 ! :? :? :?
