I'm into wood and anyway want heavy doors for sound proofing and security.
I have fitted double bifolds uPVC With oak style finish on outside and white inside on a wooden Lodge before and the sound and heat insulation the provided is fantastic.
Wouldn't do it again on my own, weight crucified me, even without the glass in.
I was pretty impressed with them.
But not cheap option though.

Cheap version: go down to your local beauty spot at night with an adjustable spanner and liberate the seat from one of the picnic tables.

Smart thinking! Actually there are a lot of them about and pretty ugly too."

The 'washboards' which are the 'door' if you want to call it that of a boats companion way used to be wood. which is fine for that job, but sitting at anchor, they block out a lot of light.
One of the chaps on the boat came up with a novel replacement in the form of acrylic, which obviously prevents rain etc from getting in but provides plenty of light.

Its easy to tell where he got them from by the BT symbol in the middle of it. He 'acquired' the sheet off a telephone box.
