My faux "workmate" has finally died. A combination of too much weight and a bit of a fall was enough to finish off the legs...
It was one of those cheapo B&D knockoffs from Wilkes/Homebase or somewhere a few years ago, and frankly owes me nothing for the uses I've put it through, so...
Question is, the wind-up screw mechanisms are fine, and it seems a shame to scrap 'em. I've seen a video of somebody converting their leg-less job into a poor-man's Moxon by attaching it to the front/end of their bench, which I thought was a decent idea....but...
My bench has got a big, sturdy apron across the front - and I've haven't room at either end - so I'm a bit stuck....unless you have a different idea of what to do with them?!
