Any further news about Auriou?

Has anybody heard any further news about Auriou? I wonder how likely it is that Mr Auriou will re start his business at some future time?

Not heard anything - I imagine it will take a good while for the paperwork to be sorted out before we see any more rasps from him.

Better by them up... they are going for double an triple now in the States (except for a company up in New York called Tools for Working Wood who seems to be reasonable, still).

I think Mike still has a few old stock Aurious (Wenge handles) available through his ebay shop (classichandtools)

I nipped over to CHT on Tuesday and had a rummage through the remaining rasps.

I managed to pick up a no 9, 13 and 15. The handles are solid enough, but not pretty. In time I can replace these with something nice.

I am glad I made the effort to secure a couple before it is to late. CHT still have quite a few, but they wont last long.

Michel Auriou is trying to start up again but it will take at least another 6 months before production starts again and there are many hurdles to clear.
I will keep you abreast of any significant developments. All being well the rasps may re-appear in Autumn 2008. Here's hoping!
