Sometime in the next 6 weeks I need to buy about £2000 worth of Euros.

We tend to use the post office as we have a friend who runs a sub post office & like to do her a favour by giving her as much business as possible.

Should I buy now or might things improve.

Unless there is another world changing event (Lehmans collapse or 9/11 etc) then movements will be minimal over a 6 week period - a maximum of a cent or so. On £2000 that will equate to 2000 cents or 20 euros max. Up to you whether you gamble for that saving and risk that size loss if it goes the other way - its not really enough to lose any sleep agonizing over IMHO.

Steve.

Believe me I ain't agonising

If it drops it drops, its just money cluttering up the bank account after all. 8)

Just wanted an informed gamble

Check your friends' sub-post office still does foreign currency. Ours lost it post-closure and re-organisation.

Yep she does money

Last year the PO decided to close her or another Sub PO in same area.
She was praying she would get the chop as the various compensations would have added up to a very nice pension pot.
The other Sub PO was desperate to hang on as the PO supplimented the rest of his shop or he would go bust.
Guess who they axed??
