Jeff if I may ask what is the dvd that you are getting with your Felder SM. I too have just taken delivery of one and for me its a big step up so would be very interested in watching some video tuition.
Thanks

Jeff, it's not really about doing a few passes. The trick of getting the best out of a spindle moulder is to get the cutter block speed with the correct Constant feed speed to achieve the best quality of cut and the powerfeeder does just that.

FWIW, some spindle moulding tooling is Not suitable for hand feeding, always check when buying any tooling that it is suitable (that's if it's what you want).

Hope this helps.

If it's the DVD I'm thinking of, it's a bloke making a desk on a universal (as Felder don't do any training vids etc) To be honest you don't see that much on spindle use, only to see the timber passing through the machine.

You can download this Vid from the felder website, it's been there for ages.

TBH, if you've spent that much on a moulder you would be better off getting some professional training than watching a video

Some will come to your place and teach you on your own machine. Trust me you'll learn an awful lot and you'll have the machining skill and safety training with you for life. It's the cheapest & best accessory you'll ever buy.
