Just a quick one. I managed to get my local B&Q to sell me there display model ata reduced price. Came with no box or bits. My question is Does the Trend unibase fit these routers
Cheers Andy

It should do, have you checked on Trends web site?

Sorry I can't answer your question regarding base.

I managed to get the last router today from the BandQ in Gillingham(kent)
boxed with all the bits and pieces for a bargain £50.

There are two at the Dartford and Sidcup branch apparently.
But you have to be super friendly to the old boys in the power tool dept, as they have to go and rummage around in the warehouse.

The guy I dealt with happened to be a retired furniture maker, he managed to get the price down from £98 for me.

Never even held a Triton tool before - a world away from my Dewalt..

Ps i intend to make a router table - whats the best (cheapest!) table insert to buy, will the Axminster one work - sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, I am but a newbie..

I have that insert and it's fine, no bells and whistles, does the job.

I happen to think that my DeWalt 625s are miles better than the big Triton in terms of oomph and build quality.

The one thing that the Triton has going for it is the height adjustment when you put it in a table and the ability to change cutters from above.

If only DeWalt would bring out a version of the DW625 with similar features specifically for use in a table...

I only ever use mine in a table.

Have a look at this, its a detailed description of mounting a triton router with a Veritas insert into a home made router table. Looks very interesting, I might well follow.

Blimey, I just bought the Dakota table mount from Rutlands (flat rather than crowned) and used the concentric circles to mount the router centrally, worked a treat.

Hey Davin do you realise you have hijacked my thread. Now i dont have a probem with this but some people might, for future reference start your own if it has nothing to do with original question. No offence meant,
Cheers Andy

Sorry.
I thought it had been answered, or partly answered.
Consider that question - deleted.
I have been looking closely at the Triton router I bought a few days ago.
I hope it will be fine in a router table, bit it seems a bit "plasticky"for every day use - time will tell..
