Philly both videos play at the same time on that webpage

I'll put the video's on separate pages - sorry, the coding shouldn't make them autoplay.
Hope you found it useful, though

Nice work phil - I like the slow-mo drive-by gloat of all your creations!

But in all seriousness, I found this quite useful, although if I were being greedy, i would have said it would be nice to have seen the 'result' of the finer-adjustment as this is what i've personally found difficult to do with the woodies that ive had - I can get a course cut without too much problem, but getting a fine cut is very difficult.

Keep up the good work, I really like these galootish videos! Maybe you and Alf should co-host a longer video exploration into the use and collection of hand tools :)

Byron
Watching the video I notice I also forgot to show how to take a deeper cut - maybe I'll add some more to it. I hope the video shows how little bashing a wooden plane needs - no need to hammer away at it.
Any other video suggestions?
Cheers

Good video Philly, very interesting. Works ok when I download it but it tries to autoplay and locks up firefox running on xp.

Phil - the content of the video was excellent with regards to tapping with the hammer, i've always read how it's done, but its nice to see it in he flesh.

One other small thing - it might just be my audio setup, but at points towards the beginning and the odd bit throughout there is a little distortion of your voice, again this could just be how i've my audio setup, but thought i'd mention it.

If you are intending to do more of these video's, it might be an idea to do it as a podcast, so we can subscribe to it via itunes or something similar and download the vids as they become available?

Either way, they are two very excellent tutorials and i'm grateful for you taking the time to putting them together!

Nice one Phil, and as others have said great gloat. Looking forward to the mkII version.

BTW how did you do that to your fingernail with that little hammer. :D

Byron
Yes, the distortion is my fault. It's on the "fix" list
Nick
Hurt my finger by picking up my sliding mitre saw. Forgot to lock off the slide, saw slides into finger. Cue outrageous swearing......
Cheers
