Another goody from Ivy bridge recycling center....

Eskeltuna Swedish vintage 5" side cutters, as new, bar the 45-50 year patina. Worth every penny of the 50p I paid.

Marked on the rear 'PIANO TRAD'

With another stitch and glue dinghy\canoe planned just what I need.

I bet that just made your day, would have for me.

Nice.
Will you be showing us the canoe build? I was at School in the 60’s last time I saw one done.

Hopefully, but not until a housemove and a workshop fit out is done!

Picture of a previous boat jobby..Piglet, difficult to think of anything else under 11ft long that was so much fun..

Did you build that? I’m impressed, has the look of a piglet about it somehow, gaff rigged - I think? One of the few nautical bits I know lol.

Yes, I cobbled it together. It is a 'standing lug' rig, the downhaul tension on the luff keeps the yard cocked.
In a small boat, the rig is friendler than a balanced lug because there's no boom to keep bashing ones head!

Eskilstuna. Any sign of a little fish anywhere? Eric Anton Berg.
Phil,
Further 'research' (Google) leads me to believe these are way before Bahco who took it over in 1959, see below

Eskilstunasteel was founded in the city of Eskilstuna, Sweden in 1936 by Gösta Pettersson. Pettersson, who was 31 years old at the time, began manufacturing in a factory located at Kungsgatan 61 in Eskilstuna
Eskilstunasteel never became a large manufacturing facility like E.A. Berg or Jernbolaget. Still, they made and sold popular steel and iron tools including screwdrivers, chisels, wood carving chisels, plane blades, metal bench planes, leather knives, rubber knives, and linoleum knives

They had considerable success in U.S. markets. So, older than I first thought, pre '59, and with the original Eskiltuna makers name mark (altered later) possibly from the late 30s. Quite a niche find.
