I think this is a cracking project with nice design and of course a utilitarian aspect. Your dovetails look excellent. The only thing that I wondered was why you didn't orient the tails on the drawerbox the same as the frame, ie to look like the tails were holding the bottom of the drawerbox from dropping out through gravity , if you know what I mean.
That said I really like the piece and would like to make something similar myself so thanks again.

Thanks for the nice comments.
Tulsk-
You have spotted a genuine mistake and one that annoyed me greatly. Like you say structurally it doesn't really matter as the glue will hold. Just a question of rushing the build and cocking up. PS where abouts in WY are you?
OPJ- They were hand cut. I don't have any type of dovetail Jig. Infact I dislike them!
By quickly made i was refering to the 2 types of dovetails i do.
Type 1 is to scribe all lines as usual and then marking across the tail board end the centre of each pin to be cut out. Then free hand cut down to the line, without marking the 1-8 angle. I was taught this way by a very old school cabinet maker and it's very quick for making less symetrically perfect dovetails. I then transfer the marks with a marking knife (the mother of all marking knives) to cut the pins.
Type 2 is as above but with great care taken to mark the position and angle of the tails.
Thanks again for all the replies.
