Yeah. Its a nasty tool as far as safety is concerned. The main concern i had with this design was the fact that if the grinder disc explodes i could get hit in an arterial vein and quite possibly die from shrapnel. Sounds ridiculous but it happens more than you might imagine.

2000 watts to regrind a bevel is silly and the noise is a major factor. The thing sounds like you are stood next to a roaring dinosaur. 6500 rpm scares me to the point of no return. Did it and survived but I guess i need to seriously consider the safety aspect before i undergo my next project.

Thank God you've stopped doing that, it was asking for a very nasty accident.

Since sense seems to be prevailing...

You can either touch down or ride back and forth. I prefer the touch down.Heat build up is not even noticeable if i retract often enough.

Where's a "raised eyebrows" smiley when you need one?

Another point is that you can close the box. Flip her over and use the other side...
