They were quite grubby and some surface rust but they cleaned up nicely

The first item with a slip on collar in the centre, has "Bucks Tot Court RD" stamped on it, which I gather were a manufacturer of planes and other tools, but what is this ?

The third of longer one looks like a gouge of some sort the fourth is like a stiletto knife but much smaller

They will all come in useful but would like to know what their original purpose was if anyone knows

The gouge like blade was separate to the handle which was elsewhere in the boxes, but I feel they are a pair

Left looks like some kind of burnishing tool, and the next along like a modelling tool of some sort. So these might possibly form a portion of a wax sculpting or carving set.

Thanks for that, I had a closer look last night and realised there is no cutting edge so knew it couldn't be a gouge

This chap had varied interests it seems so wasn't sure which interest this fell in, he had some upholstery items, so that may be where it fits in the grand scheme of things

I wondered if the stiletto type tool might also be a leather tool

The gouge thing is definitely an edge beveler for leather work, the awl next to it also looks like a stitching awl for leather.
The other two look like burnishers of some kid or for wax/clay modelling.

I like this idea more than mine. While everything pictured could be utilised in modelling/sculpting (many ad-hoc tools are used, even by professional sculptors) I can see more reasonable uses for each of them in a binding context.

Bookbinding is a possibility

But I should say that they were not all found together, two were in one box and the others spread around, so they may have originally been for one purpose and become misplaced

Also in this large acquisition were two leather punch pliers and two leather mallets, suggesting leather work of some sort, but there were also various upholstery consumables, so they may all be tied in with upholstery

Apparently the correct name for the gouge like tool is an edge shave

Oh I also found the second tool described as a leather workers spoon stylus tool

1 looks like a fid or marlinspike.
3 almost certainly a leather edge bevel.
4 a leather awl.

I've got all three, which I used to use for the working of general leathery stuff.

3 & 4 are correct but no1 is a larger version of no2

Difficult to tell in small pictures though
